Are you passionate about technical project management? ODI is looking for a project manager to oversee critical projects and initiatives. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing projects, ensuring project deliverables, managing resources, and overseeing communication with stakeholders, the team, executive management and control agencies.
Location: The employee’s workstation is located in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Oakland and/or San Diego. Travel may be required to attend meetings in Sacramento, offsite, conferences, and/or training classes as needed. This position provides telework opportunities in accordance with agency telework policies.
Annual salary: $8,625.00 – $11,905.00 based on experience and qualifications. New to State employees start at the minimum of the salary range.

What you’ll do
- Defines and manages project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, resources, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plans, implements, and coordinates project activities with internal and/or external stakeholders, oversight agencies and vendor teams.
- Develops and maintains project plans and establishes methods for tracking milestones, deliverables, risks, decisions, and overall project progress; communicates project status and areas requiring attention to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Manages the working relationships and collaboration between project leadership, agency, department directorate, business partners, and stakeholders.
- Identifies and manages project risks, issues, and changes that may impact scope, schedule, resources, or deliverables and works with project teams and leadership to determine appropriate mitigation or resolution strategies.

Desirable qualifications
- Knowledge of industry-standard project tracking software
- Experience defining project responsibilities with stakeholders
- Experience developing and implementing project communication plans and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Experience maintaining project time frames, budget estimates and status reports
- Experience defining and managing project scope, objectives, deliverables, and schedules in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders
- Experience ensuring all activities are performed in a manner consistent with documented processes
- Experience developing plans to mitigate risks
- Experience working successfully with cross-functional teams
- Ability to analyze project needs and develop effective project management processes and procedures.
- Ability to participate in project budget and staff allocation
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to ensure compliance with all key performance indicators
- Ability to fully understand the life cycle of the project
